Telephone Detective

An AI detective mystery played through a real rotary telephone. Someone on the other end of the line is desperate: a person they loved is dead. You work the case the old way — dial the husband, the barkeeper, the alibi that doesn’t quite hold up, and keep your notes on paper.

The telephone is a vintage 1940s rotary phone, rebuilt as the controller for an AI-driven investigation with dialogue generated in real time. Every case is unique — new victim, new suspects, new lies — so no two investigations ever unfold the same way.

Shown at the Angewandte Festival 2025 in Vienna; currently being prepared for public demos and private events.
